Emily Heller is a comedian, writer, and podcaster that you should know.
You can stream her one-hour Comedy Central special Ice Thickeners for free on YouTube to enjoy her silly and insightful takes on vegetarianism, pushy personal trainers, and why Donald Trump is like Air Bud.
In addition to performing standup on Conan and James Corden, Emily has acted on shows like Maron, Inside Amy Schumer, Grace and Frankie, and Bojack Horseman.
You’ll notice Emily’s name in the credits as a writer on HBO’s hit hitman comedy Barry. She won a WGA award for her writing on that show and was nominated for a primetime Emmy, where she made a splash on the red carpet with this hilariously brilliant fashion accessory.
You can also find Emily Heller in podcast form on the show Baby Geniuses, where she and Lisa Hanawalt (creator of Tuca and Bertie) “challenge their guests to share some knowledge on any topic they want.”
We can’t wait to hear more about a new show she’s developing for NBC called Secret Society. According to Deadline, the series “centers on Beth, a struggling reporter who is tired of feeling invisible in her small town and recruits other women to help take over a dying branch of an all-male secret society.”
